| Linking your prospects to your event
A critical step in promoting your event is to get the
correct links to your prospects. You might choose to
bring your prospects to your landing page to let them
see the marketing message there and then select a session
before registering. Alternatively, you might want to
deliver your marketing message via your web site or
an email campaign and then bring them directly into
the registration page.
The following provides more detail on these options:
- To direct prospects to the landing page,
provide them with the link in the Seminar Information
section of the Add/Edit Seminar page.
The basic format for the link is:
http://www.meetingbridge.com/seminar/?ssssss
where 'ssssss' represents a unique number assigned
to your seminar.
- To take prospects directly to a registration
page, provide them with the link found near
the bottom of the Add/Edit Session
page. The basic format for the link is:
http://www.meetingbridge.com/seminar/registration.aspx?sessioncd=rrrrrr
where 'rrrrrr' represents a unique number for the
particular session. (Note: this is not the
same as the unique seminar number.)
Testing your links.
The Test Landing Page link at the bottom of
the Seminar Information section of the Add/Edit
Seminar page opens you landing page in a test
mode. When in test mode:
- Registrants entered are flagged as tests and can
be deleted from the database by clicking on the Clear
Test Registrants link on the Registrant
List page.
- Credit card information entered while registering
is submitted to Verisign's test server, rather than
the live server. Only certain dummy numbers work or
Verisigns test server. You may use one of the following
numbers for your tests:
- 4111111111111111
- 5105105105105100
- 5555555555554444
- 4012888888881881
- 378282246310005
- 371449635398431
- 378734493671000
Important Note: Clicking the Test
Landing Page link inserts '&Test=Y' into the
link's URL. When providing your prospects with 'live'
links, never give them a link than contains '&Test=Y'.
This will cause them to be treated as tests and they
will not be able to enter valid credit card numbers
in the case of a 'for fee' event.
